Executing an Online BUY Order - Demo
Step 1.1: Launch the zoomTrades Real-Time Quotes and online trading system
Note: To trade online, you must have an online trading account with one of zoomFinance’s partner broker (Inter-Pacific Securities), and have been issued a private and confidential Trading PIN. If you have not opened an online trading account with Inter-Pacific Securities, please click here to Open an Account.
To launch the zoomtrades Real Time Quotes system, login to zoomFinance and click on Real-Time Quotes link.
If you don’t have a zoomFinance user I/d and password, click here to register for FREE.
Step 1.2: Keying in and Executing an Online Order
For the purposes of this example, a BUY order will be demonstrated. The same steps and procedures also apply to a SELL order.
In this example, the stock Genting will be used.
Select Genting by clicking on the zoomTrades screen. You can select Genting by either searching for it specifically by using the search feature at the bottom left hand corner as shown below, or by searching for Genting from your own portfolio (if you have already created your own personal Portfolio with Genting as one of the stocks in it). Genting might be one of the Most Active Counters for that day so you can also select Genting directly from there. |

After you have selected the stock GENTING(it will be highlighted in BLUE. Click on the  button.
Upon clicking the Buy button, an Order Entry pop-up window appears as shown below.
Note: Your own broker account number will be displayed in the 'client code' field.
- Key in the Quantity of Share you want to buy and the Price at which to buy
- Select your Client Code and enter your Trading PIN. Click OK to proceed.
In this example, 2000 shares of Genting is being bought at the price of RM12.00
After clicking on OK, you will then see an 'Order Verification' window appearing as shown below for your confirmation before the order is actually sent. Click  once to send the order or  if you do not want to proceed.
Note: Your own name (Client Name) and broker account number (Client Code) will be displayed.
Upon clicking on 'Confirm' it takes 3-5 seconds for your order to reach your dealer/remisier (see Step 3)
You now need to track the status of your order. Proceed to Step 4.
Step 1.3: Dealer/Remisier sends the order to KLSE
It takes between 3-5 seconds for your order to be received and executed by your remisier/dealer. As soon as your order is executed by your remisier/dealer, it will be sent to the KLSE. Once your order is confirmed by KLSE, you will receive your trade confirmation on the zoomTrades order status screen. Please proceed to Step 4 for more details.
Note: The speed of your trade confirmations in the Order Status screen also depends on your Internet connection speed. A 56K modem connection (or faster) is optimum.
